Updated as on Aug 13, 2019. CAT Exam 2019: IIM Kozhikode, the co-ordinating institute of the Common Admission Test (CAT) 2019 , has released the exam details on July 28 . CAT 2019 examination will be held on Nov 24 this year. The registration process for the examination will begin on August 7, 2019. The registration will be online and through the dedicated portal for CAT exam. It shall be noted here that CAT 2019 will be conducted by the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Kozhikode. Candidates' CAT 2019 scorecards will be made accessible on the CAT website. Candidates may also be intimated individually by SMS. The CAT results are likely be declared by the second week of January, 2020. The CAT 2019 score is valid only till December 31, 2020 and will accordingly be accessible on the website. CAT is a national level entrance examination required for MBA aspirants to take admissions to IIMs or other Top Business schools. The Computer Based Test (CBT) CAT 2019 exam will be held at more than 350 centres across India and abroad, in 2 shifts in a single day. More than 2 Lac candidates appear in CAT exam every year. Last year 2.41 Lacs candidates had registered and applied for CAT while 2.09 Lac sat in exam.


Eligibility for CAT 2019:


If you have completed Bachelor’s degree with 50% marks or completed professional degree (CA/CS/ICWA), or are in the final year of Bachelor’s degree you can appear in CAT exam. There is no Age bar to apply and appear for CAT exam.


Reservation: As per the legal requirements, 15% of the seats are reserved for Scheduled Caste (SC) candidates, 7.5% for Scheduled Tribe (ST) candidates, 27% for Other Backward Classes candidates belonging to the “Non-Creamy” layer (NC-OBC), up to 10% for Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) candidates and 5% for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwD).

CAT 2019 Exam Pattern: 180 Minutes duration CAT exam will be a computer delivered test will have 100 questions divided in 3 sections of VARC, DILR and Quantitative Ability. 25% No Penalty Questions: Out of 100 questions in CAT 2019, more than 25 questions will not have negative marking. CAT 2019 is divided into MCQ and Non-MCQ type of questions will not carry negative marking. In case any non-MCQ has negative marking, a few MCQs may be changed to no negative marking questions.
