IMT Hyderabad, Celebrates 5th Convocation
The convocation of IMT (Institute of Management Technology), Hyderabad, the fourth and the youngest IMT was celebrated in the campus. A batch of 2015-17 of 172 students graduated from various programs of PGDM in Marketing management, Finance Management, Human Resource, operation and others were honored with their PGDM diplomas.
Welcoming the guests, faculties and students, Prof. (Dr.) Satish Ailawadi, Director, IMT Hyderabad presented the annual report and said, "Today the world is at your feet but no matter how successful you become, always remain grounded and connected to the roots. Successes do not last forever and one needs to stay alert to the opportunities and threats that may keep crossing your way. Keeping grounded will enable you with greater ability to deal with those challenges."
The Chief Guest of the event Honourable CM of Andhra Pradesh, Shri N. Chandrababu Naidu, addressing the students said, "I am very happy to learn about the placement which is an achievement but getting a job and becoming complacent should not be your goal. Strive hard and be innovative." Talking about a management, innovation and implementation he mentioned how he has always been trying to cut around bureaucracy and implement his ideas. "All of you may be more educated than me when it comes to management studies but I think I am more practical than you in execution and implementation. Innovation will drive you along with technology, IoT and Virtual reality."
Among the dignitaries also present were Member of Parliament and the President of IMT Group of institutes, Shri Kamal Nath. Speaking to the students he mentioned how business management studies at IMT attempts to keep pace with the uncertainties and globalisation.
"The flip side to the hyper connective global world is that it may have a domino effect in business, as we can see in the case of Brexit or the recent political changes which took place in the US. Innovation is the key and Information is the ultimate currency. Harness technology, data and analytics which will give you an edge. An untapped customer or a next generation product may be lying hidden somewhere in the chaos", added Mr. Kamalnath.
Among the top rank holders who were recognized and awarded with Gold Medals were Pasumarthy Sai Sailaja Udaya Ramalakshmi (Overall Gold Medal as well as PGDM Gold Medal), Shantanu Srivastava (PGDM – Finance Gold Medal) and Payel Ganguly (PGDM – Marketing Gold Medal)
IMT Hyderabad has been able to establish a strong corporate connect and industry bonding in a short period of time compared many top B Schools in the country as the institute engages with members of the corporate world through several initiatives. Practitioners and business leaders play an integral part in curriculum development and 15% sessions in the regular courses are taken by business leaders from different sectors to familiarize the students with the real time business scenario. The Institute has a state of the art 30 acre campus situated near the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Hyderabad.
According to Director, Dr. Ailawadi, the Industry centric approach has paid them well. For the batch 2015-17 more than 95% student have already been placed in various places with highest CTC INR 22.5 Lacs per annum.
The average remuneration for top 100 students has been close to INR 7 lakhs while average for top 50 offers has been 8.16 lakhs so far. Recruiters like Arcesium, a division of D.E.Shaw, which provides tech support and software solutions to asset managers, KPMG, Deloitte, Amazon, HDFC Bank, ICICI, SBI Life, Syska, Blue Star, CCD, Khmimji Ramdas, Nephro plus, Fact Set, Care Ratings, S& P Global, iNautix visiting the campus with multiple offers during placement session.
IMT Hyderabad was also awarded with Best Upcoming B-School in South India by ASSOCHAM besides being also conferred with the Dewang Mehta Education Leadership Award 2016. With a new program structure under way, IMT Hyderabad will make a paradigm shift in its academic delivery.
