Top B Schools reports large number of PPOs offers in 2018
Top Business schools have this year seen an increase in pre-placement offers (PPOs) following successful summer internships. Some of the B-schools claim to have been able to place all students within two or three days because of this. Placement teams at B-schools said successful summer internships have contributed to an increase in the PPOs this year. On some campuses, PPOs have led to a 15-20 per cent rise in offers.
At the Indian Institute of Management (IIM)-Ahmedabad, Accenture Strategy, The Boston Consulting Group (BCG) and Airtel emerged top recruiters on the back of PPOs, among other reasons. Including PPOs, Accenture made the highest number of offers at 17, BCG made 15, Airtel 10 and Tata Administrative Services seven. The India Skills report by the Confederation of Indian Industry, All India Council for Technical Education, human resource consultancy PeopleStrong and skill assessment firm Wheelbox, released last week, also projected a higher hiring intent in 2018.
Delhi based FORE School of Management reported positive trends mentioning that they are ‘consciously encouraging companies that give PPOs and PPIs’. Consulting companies were led by Deloitte and KPMG while FMCG was led by HUL and Asian Paints.
