XLRI - Xavier School of Management and LIBA Chennai get new Directors
Former Director of Loyola Institute of Business Administration (LIBA) Chennai Fr. P. M. Joseph Christie S.J. has taken over the charge as new Director at XLRI - Xavier School of Management, Jamshedpur.
Fr. Christie S.J. has taken charge from Rev. Fr. E Abraham, S.J. who has been at the helm of affairs at XLRI after his stint with XIMB as Director.
Fr. Christie S.J. has rich academic and administrative experience. He was a visiting faculty member at several management institutes in India and abroad. He is a member of the Beta Gamma Sigma, the honour society for Collegiate Business Schools, USA. He secured his MBA and Ph.D. from St. Louis University, USA.
XLRI, Jamshedpur, a premier private management institute in India was founded in 1949 by Fr Quinn Enright, S.J. in the ‘steel city’ of Jamshedpur has grown into a top-ranking business management school of international repute with a wide portfolio of management programs and research publications over the last six decades. XLRI which is one of the most sought after Business Schools in the country among MBA (PGDM) aspirants, also bagged two prestigious International Accreditations, viz., AACSB - The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business and AMBA - Association of MBAs. Meanwhile, Rev. Dr. C. Joe Arun S.J., former Director of St. Joseph’s Institute of Management, Trichy has taken over the charge as new Director at Loyola Institute of Business Administration (LIBA) Chennai last month who has taken charge from the Fr. P. M. Joseph Christie S.J. prior to his joining XLRI.
Dr. Joe Arun was Director of Goa Institute of Management (GIM) and Secretary & Correspondent of Loyola College, Deputy Director of LICET, Director of Xavier Institute of Business Administration (XIBA), Palayamkottai before joining St. Joseph’s Institute of Management (JIM), Trichy.
Dr. Joe Arun, S.J., holds a doctorate in Anthropology from Oxford University, United Kingdom and holds graduate degrees in Philosophy, Economics and MBA in Marketing and Human Resources Management. He teaches Organizational Behaviour, Consumer Behaviour, Cross-cultural Management, Entrepreneurship and Conflict management. He has been visiting Faculty in Oxford University, UK, Ingolstadt Business School in Germany, ISEG School of Management, Lille, France, and did a postdoctoral fellowship from University of Chicago.
