Management Development Institute (MDI) Gurgaon has completed summer placements for its 359-strong batch of 2018-20 with LÓreal offering the highest stipend of INR 3.2 lacs for the two-month internship. Average stipend for two months was INR 2.1 lacs while the median stipend was INR 2 lacs.
Last year’s highest stipend of INR 3 lacs for two months was offered by Godrej, while the average and median stipends were INR 1.95 lacs and INR 1.85 lacs respectively.
“In the 2018-20 batch, the top 10 percentile got a median stipend of INR 3 lacs for two months; the top 20 percentile INR 2.6 lacs and the top 50 percentile INR 2.25 lacs,” said Kanwal Kapil, dean, continuing education, consulting, alumni and placements, at MDI Gurgaon.
A total of 98 companies participated in the summer placements process including 31 new recruiters who rolled out 97 offers. There was a 20% rise in the total number of recruiters.
The maximum number of offers came from the FMCG sector which absorbed 21% of the batch, followed by BFSI with 19%. IT companies made offers to 10% of the batch and consulting and pharma 9% each. Manufacturing (6%), conglomerates (5%), e-commerce (5%), media (5%), telecom (5%) and retail (2%) were among the other sectors making offers. Source: Economics Times.
The companies making the maximum number of internship offers included Pidilite Industries (15), Airtel (12), OYO Rooms (12), Bain Capability Centre (11) and Godrej Industries (11).
