Management Development Institute (MDI), Gurgaon, once again demonstrated the fact that it is undoubtedly one of the top 6 Business Schools of the country and top 3 among private Business Schools. The final placement for its 2017-19 batch was completed with a top salary of whopping INR 40.79 lacs per annum from Google. The average salary for PGPM students was INR 20.03 lacs per annum, while that for PGP-IM was INR 19.96 lacs per annum and for PGP-HRM, INR 20.93 lacs per annum.
As many as 106 companies participated in this year’s process, which took two-and-a half days as usual, to complete. The average salary for the batch reported was to be INR 20.13 lacs per annum. The highest package last year was INR 35 lacs, offered by Avendus, while the average was INR 19.17 lacs per annum.
Deloitte USI was the biggest recruiter on the campus with 16 offers, followed by JP Morgan Chase with 15 offers. KPMG and OYO Rooms made 12 offers each, while Airtel, American Express and Bain Capability Centre each made 11offers.
Sector wise, BFSI accounted for the biggest share of offers at nearly 26%, followed by consulting at 23% and FMCG/FMCD at 19%. Among others, 8% of the offers came from IT, 6% from conglomerates and 5% each from ecommerce and pharma. The BFSI sector has shown a 27% jump in the number of offers at 89 this year, compared with 70 last year.
According to Prof. Dr Kanwal Kapil, Chair Placements at MDI, 106 companies absorbed close to 345 students compared to 119 companies taking 330 students last year. Investment banking and consulting firms such as Avendus, BNP Paribas, Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan & Chase, Nomura offered multiple profiles, while Amazon, BNP Paribas, Dr Reddy’s Laboratories, Everest Group, Flipkart, Google, JSW Group, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Lodha Group, Mahindra Group, Marico, P&G, Rivigo, Shell and Sprinklr etc. returned to the campus. The numbers of new recruiters were up by 29% to 36 from 28 last year.
As many as 237 students from PGPM (PGP Programme in Management), 60 from PGP-HRM (PGP in Human Resource Management) and 45 from PGP-IM (PGP in International Management) participated in the process.
