IIM Sambalpur completes placements for its 3rd batch
Avg salary is INR 11.3 Lac
The Indian Institute of Management, Sambalpur (IIM-S), another 3rd generation IIM, has recorded 100% placement for its third batch of Post Graduation programme. The highest annual package offered is INR 58 Lac per annum. Average salary for the batch 2017-19 is INR 11.33 Lac per annum which is lower than last year average salary was INR 10.55 Lac per annum.
Jeeva Naga Kartik, specialized in Business Development, secured the highest package offered by the Tolaram Group. It is the highest among the second and third generation IIMs in the country. According to the
Director, Mahadeo Jaiswal, of the total 60 students in the third batch, 54 students have accepted their job offers while six are still negotiating for better packages. The B-school is holding its third convocation on April 08, 2019 .
The average salary of the top 25% students was INR 15.32 Lac per annum. Similarly, it was INR 12.04 Lac per annum for the top 50 per cent, as reported by the Director.
With major recruiters from sectors like IT and business consultancies, BFSI, Business Development Companies and FMCG, the average annual package was INR 9.93 Lac per annum for the batch. Companies such as Tolaram Group, Vedanta, SBI Life, HDFC, Motilal Oswal and Deloitte has been reported to be to recruiters.
About IIM Sambalpur: The premier B- School, which started operating in 2015, is currently functioning from the campus of Sambalpur University in Burla. The permanent campus of the institution will be set up in Basantpur area, the outskirts of Sambalpur city. A land of 200-acre has already been handed over to the institution for the campus, along with an assistance of Rs 400 crore. The Union cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has approved Rs 401.94 crore for the establishment and operationalization of permanent campus of Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Sambalpur. The cabinet also approved fund for establishment and operationalization of permanent campuses of six other IIMs at Amritsar, Bodh Gaya, Nagpur, Sirmaur, Vishakhapatnam and Jammu. These institutes are presently functioning from temporary campuses. The statement revealed that the construction of permanent campus of these institutes will be completed by June, 2021.
