The CAT Exam 2020 shall be conducted by IIM Indore, official notification will be released around last week of July 2020. The Indian Institutes of Management (IIM) will conduct a computer- based Common Admission Test 2020 (CAT 2020) on November 29, 2020 in two sessions. CAT exam is conducted for admission to post graduate management programmes offered at 20 IIMs and other top B Schools of the country. The 20 IIMs include the seven flagship IIMs and 13 newer IIMs. Other than IIMs, FMS Delhi University, JBIMS, UBS Chandigarh, all IIT – Business Schools, DMS NIT, private management institutes like SPJIMR, MDI Gurgaon, NITIE, XIMB, IMT Ghaziabad, IMI Delhi, FORE School, Tapmi, GIM Goa, IRMA, and 100 others accept CAT Score.

Professor Harshal Lowalekar, Faculty Operations Management and Quantitative Techniques, is the convener for the Common Admission Test (CAT 2020).
Know the CAT convenor – Professor (Dr.) Harshal Lowalekar is a Mechanical engineer from Ujjain Engineering College & has been a Fulbright-Nehru Postdoctoral Fellow at W.P. Carey School of Business Arizona State University, Tempe, AZ, USA and completed his Fellow Programme in Management (Production and Quantitative Methods) from IIM A. Presently he is a Professor of Operations Management and Quantitative Techniques at IIM Indore.
CAT Exam Exam Time Changed: The revised duration of the test will be 120 minutes. There will be three sections: Section I: Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension; Section II: Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning and Section III: Quantitative Ability. Candidates will be allotted exactly 40 minutes for answering questions in each section and they will not be allowed to switch from one section to another while answering questions in a section. Tutorials to understand the format of the test will be available on the CAT website from October 2020.
The scorecards are made accessible on the CAT website. Candidates may also be intimated individually by SMS. The results are declared by the second week of January.

More than 2 Lac candidates appear in CAT exam every year. Last year 2.41 Lacs candidates had registered and applied for CAT while 2.09 Lac sat in exam.
Eligibility for CAT 2020 : If you have completed Bachelor’s degree with 50% marks or completed professional degree (CA/CS/ICWA), or are in the final year of Bachelor’s degree you can appear in CAT exam. There is no Age bar to apply and appear for CAT exam.
CAT 2020 Exam Pattern :180 Minutes duration CAT exam will be a computer delivered test will have 100 questions divided in 3 sections of VARC, DILR and Quantitative Ability. 25% No Penalty Questions: Out of 100 questions in CAT 2019, more than 25 questions will not have negative marking. CAT 2019 is divided into MCQ and Non-MCQ type of questions will not carry negative marking. In case any non-MCQ has negative marking, a few MCQs may be changed to no negative marking questions.
Reservation : As per the legal requirements, 15% of the seats are reserved for Scheduled Caste (SC) candidates, 7.5% for Scheduled Tribe (ST) candidates, 27% for Other Backward Classes candidates belonging to the “Non-Creamy” layer (NC-OBC), up to 10% for Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) candidates and 5% for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwD).
