CLAT 2024 – REGISTRATION PROCESS, SYLLABUS, FORMAT

CLAT 2024: The Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs) was established on 19th August, 2017 with the aim of improving standards of legal education in the country and serving the justice system through legal education. As we all know CLAT or Common Law Admission test is a National Level Entrance Exam for admissions to Undergraduate (UG) and Postgraduate (PG) law programmes offered by 22 National Universities in India. All Admissions to the 5 – Year Integrated LLB & LLM Programmes that will commence in the Academic Year 2024 – 2025 shall be based on CLAT 2024 exam scores. Eligibility: Candidates must secure the following minimum percentage of marks in their qualifying examination (i.e., 10+2 or an equivalent examination): Forty five percent (45%) marks or its equivalent grade in case of candidates belonging to General / OBC / PWD / NRI / PIO / OCI categories. Forty Percent (40%) marks or equivalent in case of candidates belonging to SC/ST categories. There is no upper age limit for candidates appearing for UG Programme through CLAT 2024 The result of the qualifying examination (i.e., 10+2) shall be submitted by the candidate at the time of admission, failing which the candidate shall be ineligible for admission to the course they may have applied for. General Instructions: The CLAT 2024 examination will be held in OFFLINE mode The applications must be submitted ONLINE only from consortiumofnlus.ac.in website. The candidates are first required to register themselves at the CLAT 2024 website by using personal mobile number and e-mail Id. Upon registration, an OTP will be sent to the registered mobile number for validation. Once the mobile number is validated, candidates can login using the registered mobile number and the password provided at the time of registration. Application fee: Rs 4,000/- (for General/OBC/PWD/NRI/PIO/OCI candidates) & Rs 3,500/- (for SC/ST/BPL category candidates) For any information relating to the 22 NLUs, the candidate may refer to the e-brochure of the respective Institutions available in the Consortium website (https://consortiumofnlus.ac.in/clat-2024/participating_universities.html) Highlights of the modifications to CLAT to make the exam more “student friendly”: The UG CLAT 2024, shall comprise of 120 questions organised into 5 sections (English Language, Current Affairs including GK, Legal Reasoning, Logical Reasoning and Quantitative Techniques. In the previous 2 years, there were 150 questions in total. Exam Time: 2(Two) Hours There shall be no change in the syllabus and number of questions for the Postgraduate (PG) CLAT 2024.
