IIM Kashipur's New Cohort Reflects Increasing Diversity and Inclusion

IIM Kashipur (Indian Institute of Management Kashipur) has recently shown remarkable trends. The MBA programme saw a rise of 7% with regard to the cohort of female enrolment. A total of 42% female students enrolled this year while last year it was 35%. A total of 37% of which are engineers. The batch for AY 2024-26, was inducted with a three day long inauguration and orientation programme, which was organised last week. A total of 471 students were enrolled in MBA and MBA- Analytics, among which 196 are women. IIM Kashipur MBA Analytics Admission 2024 This new batch of IIM Kashipur is full of diversity. Apart from 37% engineers, there are a total of 33% students who are from commerce background, 12% are from science, 6% from humanities. There are 11 students who have come from medical, communication and various other backgrounds. This batch has an overall work experience of 13 months. There is a geographical diversity as well. The new batch has a total representation from 28 states. Maharashtra and U.P. recorded a total of 63 students, from each state. According to Prof. Abhradeep Maiti, the chairperson of admissions “IIM Kashipur has seen exponential growth in female students in the last couple of years. From 11% female students in 2019, the new batch has 42% female students” reports. IIM Kashipur’s director-in-charge, Prof. Somnath Chakraborti is of the opinion that in the span of merely 13 years, IIM Kashipur has achieved something which even first-generation IIM-s take decades to come to. He said, “From gender to geographical diversity, ranking to tie-up with foreign colleges and universities, IIM Kashipur is making all efforts to become the top 10 IIMs of the country” – reports, Indian Express.
