Under the Yuva Sangam Phase-3, a Student Exchange Programme under the Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat Initiative by Govt of India, IIM Bodh Gaya, as the nodal institute of Bihar, welcomed the delegates from the nodal institute of Gujarat, IIIT Surat comprising 42 students and 4 Professors.
The delegation was received at Gaya Railway Station by 4 AM with traditional garlands, symbolizing the spirit of unity and cultural exchange that underpins the initiative of cultural assimilation. There are 15 female and 27 male students in the delegation.
This exchange programme by the Government of India, stands as a testament to the nation’s commitment to fostering cultural understanding and collaboration. Yuva Sangam Phase-3, focuses on conducting exposure tours of the youth comprising mainly of students studying in Higher Educational institutions and some off-campus youngsters from across the nation to various States of India.
During their visits, the delegation will have a multi-dimensional exposure under five broad areas – Paryatan (Tourism), Parampara (Traditions), Pragati (Development) Paraspar Sampark (People-to-people connect) and Prodyogik (Technology). In the week-long exposure, the Gurjarat delegation is set to experience Bihar in all the above dimensions to generate a sense of inclusivity among the youth of the nation.
Students will be exposed to ice-breaking sessions, heritage site visits, and industrial visits, along with meeting with the Governor of Bihar among many other scheduled activities.
Through interactions and collaborative initiatives, both the students and professors will delve into the rich tapestry of Bihar’s cultural heritage and closely observe the fabric of Bihar’s culture, creating a bridge that transcends geographical boundaries.
Here is what the students from Gujarat delegation had to say about their experience till now.
Purv Patel from IIIT Surat said that their excitement grew as they reached Delhi. They were anticipating what was awaiting them but after reaching here, the events such as the ice-breaking sessions they have been a part of so far have exceeded their expectations and have been fantastic.
Another student Niza Italia from Indus University said that it was her first visit to Bihar and the journey till now has been enriching.
The Nodal Officer, Prof. Vishal Wankhede said that “As the programme unfolds, it is anticipated that not only will the participants gain valuable insights into each other’s cultures but will form enduring bonds during this exchange, creating a legacy of friendship and cooperation between Gujarat and Bihar, ultimately contributing to nation-building.”
On 22nd December, a delegation of 45 students from Bihar will visit Gujarat under the Yuva Sangam Phase-3, programme for one week.
