Updated as on Aug 10, 2022. XAT 2023 applications open on Aug 10. The Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT) is the management entrance exam conducted by XLRI Jamshedpur for admission to its PGDM program.
The XAT score is accepted by about 160+ B-schools of India for admission to its PGDM | PGPX, MBA and other management programs. The most popular management entrance after CAT Exam (conducted by IIMs) for MBA / PGDM has been the XAT conducted by XLRI. The XAT 2022 will be conducted on January 2, 2022 in 72 cities in India. The Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT 2022) admit card will be released on December 22. Xavier Aptitude Test or commonly known as XAT which is a computer-based test, will be conducted for admission for the batch of MBA 2022-24 on January 2, 2022 from 9.30 AM to 12.30 PM in a single session in CBT Mode.
Conducted by XLRI Jamshedpur it is one of the oldest and second most popular MBA Entrance Exams after CAT (Common Admission Test) conducted by the IIMs. Approx 90,000 candidates fill XAT application forms every year.
XAT Exam 2023 registration is expected to start from the 2nd week of Aug 2021 (tentatively as per past trends) and continue till end of Nov 2021. The XAT 2022 exam date is generally scheduled for the first Sunday of January.

Pattern : XAT is an online computer based test. The aggregate maximum marks in XAT are 100 for 100 questions divided in 4 sections. Each correct answer is awarded +1 mark and each wrong answer will attract the penalty of -0.25 mark.

Eligibility Criteria
Indian nationals who have a bachelor’s degree or three years duration or equivalent from any recognized college or Institute in any stream are eligible to apply. The applicants who are due to complete their final examination by 10th June 2021 are also eligible to apply. NRI and foreign applicants can apply through the GMAT score (except DUBAI and KATHMANDU wherein the applicants have the option to appear in XAT 2021 examination).

XAT Syllabus
The syllabus is quite similar to CAT, comprises of various topics like Decision Making and Analytical Reasoning, Verbal and logical ability, Quantitative Ability and Data Interpretation and General Knowledge. There is no fixed syllabus as such for XAT but questions revolve around the above-mentioned topics.
- Decision Making: Data arrangement text, Condition and grouping test, complex, case lets.
- Quantitative Aptitude: Speed and Distance, Geometry, Statics, Graphs, Tables, Arithmetic, Heights and Distance, etc.
- Verbal And Logical Ability: Para Jumble, Reading Comprehension, Fill in the blanks with Suitable answer, Critical reasoning, etc.
- Essay Writing: Essay to be written in Social And Economic Events.
- General Knowledge: Current Affairs, Sports, Awards, Politics, History, Business, Economics, Nation & States.
