We took a peek into comparing these institutions : LBSIM , New Delhi, SIBM – Bengaluru , NIBM – Pune and K J Somaiya , Mumbai.
Formed in the year 2008 SIBM, Bangalore seemed younger in terms of year of establishment. These schools have their campuses in strategic locations and accept CAT/XAT/ CMAT scores, only SIBM-B’lore accepts SNAP Test score (Test :1 conducted on 10th Dec and Test 2 & 3 scheduled this month on 17th & 22nd). In terms of CAT Cut-off for LBSIM and NIBM it is in the band of 75 – 76 percentile and slightly higher at 80 percentile for K J Somaiya.
As per specialisation is considered LBSIM (Lal Bahadur Shastri Inst of Management) located in the heart of Delhi with prime connectivity with the Corporate Hub offers 5 PGDM Programme with specialisation in Financial Management, AI & Data Science. The Institution attracts prominent Recruiters from the Banking & Consulting Industry with Highest CTC offered as Rs 24.75 LPA.
SIBM – Bangalore also offers MBA in Quantitative Finance with Avg CTC of Rs 13.48 LPA. If you are someone looking for Specialisation in Sports Management, K J Somaiya Inst of Management would be the place you would like to go for.
In terms of Tuition fees comparison, KJ Somaiya leads the pack with Rs 20.85 lakh, followed by SIBM-B at Rs 16 Lakh and LBSIM at Rs 15.5 Lakh. Fees for NIBM – Pune is Rs 12 Lakh whereas, its Avg CTC is Rs 14 LPA. In terms of seats LBSIM has 380 seats with 45 full -time Faculty and a reasonably balanced Student :Faculty Ratio of 8:4 , which definitely assures better involvement and interaction with students.SIBM has common Faculty, NIBM has only 21 full-time Faculty , whereas K J Somaiya’s offerings in terms of Seat count is huge which is numbered at 600.
So if considered in terms of overall ROI (Fees viz -a-viz Avg CTC) and also considering the choice of specialisation .. LBSIM stands out as a better option when compared with the rest of the institutes in consideration.
