IIM CAP 2026: The IIM Common Admission Process (CAP) 2026 is a unified selection gateway for several newer IIMs. Instead of appearing for multiple interviews, a candidate shortlisted for several CAP-participating IIMs attends a single Personal Interview (PI). Participating IIMs: There has been a significant change for the 2026-28 batch. This year only 3 IIMs participated in IIM CAP. While previously 9 IIMs participated, many have now formed a separate “Joint Admission Process” (JAP) or moved to independent admissions.
- CAP 2026 Participants: Primarily IIM Bodh Gaya, IIM Jammu, and IIM Sirmaur.
- Opted Out (JAP 2026): IIM Kashipur, IIM Raipur, IIM Ranchi, and IIM Tiruchirappalli have moved to the Joint Admission Process (JAP).
- Independent: IIM Udaipur, IIM Nagpur, and IIM Rohtak are conducting their own processes this year.

- CAP (Common Admission Process): Coordinated by IIM Bodh Gaya for 2026.
- JAP (Joint Admission Process): Coordinated by IIM Raipur for a specific cluster of 4 IIMs [All 2nd generations IIMs].
- SAP (Supplementary Admission Process): Occasionally conducted for candidates who meet IIM-specific criteria but missed the common CAP/JAP cutoffs.
