The IIT Gandhinagar graduands celebrated the biggest day of their life, as they are no more graduands now and are going to be called as graduates.
IIT Gandhinagar celebrated the 7th Convocation on saturday. The auditorium was filled with all the happy faces. The ecstasy of students and their family members is indescribable.
The ceremony commenced with Academic Procession and invocation. Professor Sudhir K Jain, Director, IIT Gandhinagar accorded degrees to the students and gave an enriching speech. He congratulated the graduating students and medal winners and underlined landmark events of academic year. Chief Guest Ms. Anu Aga, Chairperson, Teach for India presented awards and medals to the students. Later, Ms Anu Aga addressed the Convocation Ceremony and encouraged students to get in touch with their extraordinary selves and to not indulge themselves in settling for mediocrity.
A total of 328 students were conferred degrees on Saturday including 112 B.Tech students, 2 B.Tech- M.Tech Dual Degree students, 96 M.Tech students, 78 M.Sc students, 14 MA students, 24 PhD students and 2 PGDIIT students were awarded degrees on the occasion. The institute also presented medals and awards to students for excellence in academics, research, overall performance, innovation, leadership, social service, and sports.
