Exam Sessions: BITSAT 2026 will be conducted in two sessions, and the best score from the attempts will be considered for admission, BITSAT 2026 will be conducted in two sessions, and candidates can choose to appear for either one or both. BITSAT  Eligibility Criteria

  • Educational Qualification: Must have passed the 12th examination (or equivalent) in 2026 from a recognized Central or State board. Candidates who passed in 2025 are also eligible.
  • Mandatory Subjects: Must have studied Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (or Biology for B. Pharm. applicants).
  • Minimum Marks:
    • An aggregate of 75% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/Biology combined.
    • A minimum of 60% marks in each of Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/Biology individually.
  • Other: Must have adequate proficiency in English.

BITSAT 2026 Exam Pattern: BITSAT is a fully Computer-Based Test (CBT) with a unique structure designed to test both knowledge and speed.

Marking Scheme Highlights

  • Correct Answer: +3 marks
  • Incorrect Answer: -1 mark
  • Unattempted: 0 marks

Unique Feature: Bonus Questions: A key feature of BITSAT is the provision for 12 additional questions (3 from each of the four main sections) if a candidate successfully attempts all the initial 130 questions before the 3-hour duration ends. Note: Once you opt for the bonus questions, you cannot go back to review or change answers in the first 130 questions.

BITSAT 2026 Syllabus: The syllabus is primarily based on the NCERT Class 11 and Class 12.

  • Physics: Mechanics, Electrodynamics, Thermodynamics, Modern Physics, and Optics.

As per BITSAT brochure, a candidate who opts to appear once (Session-1 or Session-2), will pay a fee of Rs. 3400 (for a male candidate) and Rs. 2900 (for a female candidate). If a candidate who opts to appear to Session-1 only, chooses then to apply separately to appear a second time (Session-2), then he/she will have to pay an additional sum of Rs. 2000 (for a male candidate) and Rs. 1500 (for a female candidate). The application fee is non-refundable and non-transferrable.

Syllabus: The syllabus for BITSAT constitutes the topics covered in class 11 and 12 of the central boards such as CBSE, ISC and state boards. Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, English Proficiency and Logical Reasoning.

The M.Sc. (Hons.) program is a four-year program with provision for a dual degree extending to five years total duration.  The input to the M.Sc. (Hons.) is through the entrance test (BITSAT) with the minimum qualification being a pass in the 10+2 system with at least 80% marks in Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics. There are about 30 students admitted every year for the M.Sc. (Hons.) program.
