From a batch of 51 students, 46 appeared for the placement process and 5 students opted out. Average CTC was INR 12.4 Lakhs per Annum (LPA) which is higher than the last year average CTC. The Department of Management Studies (DoMS), IIT Madras, offers internationally reputed research programmes at the Masters and Doctoral levels. The more than 100 research scholars pursuing research in DoMS form one of the largest and finest groups of Management researcher scholars globally. The research works have focused on the functional areas of Finance, Marketing, Human Resources, Operations and Manufacturing, Systems and Information Technology Management.
Firms belonging to Analytics and Consulting ruled the roost followed by IT/ITES & BFSI Sector firms. 22% students placed in BFSI Sector, 47% student placed in IT/ITeS, 13% in consulting sector and 13% student placed in Manufacturing. The placements of batch of 2018 was conducted in December 2017 witnessing 27 companies to recruit from the campus. All the recruiters gave very positive feedback about the quality of the program. Regular recruiters such as Google, Amazon, Cisco,Crisil, Mckinsey, Wipro, RBS, Dell, Virtusa, and Cognizant reaffirmed their faith in the talents developed by DoMS MBA programme
