MDI Gurgaon Convocation: The Management Development Institute (MDI), which is celebrating its 50th foundation year, will implement Rs 200-crore campus rejuvenation and expansion plan to build a state-of-the-art infrastructure on the city campus. The construction plan will be rolled out shortly, according to the institute authorities. In its golden jubilee year, the institution is focusing on expanding its presence to other parts of the country as well.
Dr. Rajesh Chakrabarti, director of MDI Gurugram, also a member of the institute’s board of governors, said its campus in the city will be revamped with state-of-art infrastructure.
“The board has approved a Rs 200 crore-plus campus rejuvenation plan to expand its campus and construct a state-of-the-art infrastructure,” said Chakrabarti. A large sustainability plan is being discussed to set up a green campus which will comply with the best global standards. The institute has signed an agreement with well-known architects to upgrade the campus.
The announcement was made during the joint annual convocation ceremony of MDI Gurugram and Murshidabad campuses on Wednesday. A total of 514 students from various PGDM programmes received their diplomas during the convocation. From MDI Murshidabad, 132 students of the 2020-22 batch were conferred diplomas. All the students got placements. A total of 87 organisations recruited students from MDI Gurugram. The highest salary offered this time was Rs 1.14 crore, while the average salary recorded was Rs 23.50 lakh. MDI Gurgaon is the Few B Schools of the country that are AMBA, AACSB, AMDISA and NBA accredited.
Sanjiv Mehta, CEO and managing director of Hindustan Unilever, while addressing the gathering, urged the students to temper ambition with humility.
