New Delhi, February 1, 2026 — Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will hold a special interaction with nearly 30 college students from across India immediately after presenting the Union Budget 2026-27 in Parliament on Sunday, the Finance Ministry announced.
Students to Witness Budget Presentation Live
On Budget Day 2026, the selected students will be given exclusive access to the Lok Sabha Gallery to watch the live presentation of the Union Budget. This rare opportunity will allow them to observe parliamentary proceedings during one of the most significant annual events in India’s economic calendar.

Diverse Academic Representation
The group includes students from multiple states and varied academic disciplines such as commerce, economics, medical education, and vocational training. The initiative aims to foster awareness among the youth about the budgetary process, policy-making, and nation-building.
Visit to Finance Ministry
Following the Budget session, the students will visit the Ministry of Finance at Kartavya Bhawan-1, where they will interact with senior officials. The discussions will focus on how the ministry functions, the intricacies of policy formulation, and the role of institutions in shaping India’s economic future.
Dialogue on Budget Priorities
During the interaction, Sitharaman and ministry officials will highlight the key priorities of Union Budget 2026, its vision for India’s growth trajectory, and its implications for the younger generation. Students will also be encouraged to share their perspectives, aspirations, and ideas on how the Budget can address the needs of India’s youth.
