The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) announced the results of the Civil Services Examination 2024 (UPSC CSE 2024). This year, a total of 1,009 candidates cleared the exam. Shakti Dubey secured the top position, followed by Harshita Goyal in second place and Archit Parag Dongre in third.
Female candidates dominated the top ranks, securing the first and second positions. The third rank was achieved by a male candidate. Notably, women constituted three out of the top five rank holders. Among these high achievers, Pune’s Archit Parag Dongre distinguished himself by attaining All India Rank 3, making him the top-ranked male candidate. Archit is likely the state’s highest scorer in this year’s examination.
An alumnus of Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT Vellore), where he earned his B Tech in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Archit selected Philosophy as his optional subject for the UPSC CSE. Hailing from Pune, Archit’s early education included schooling in Mumbai and junior college in Pune. Following his graduation, he gained a year of experience in the IT sector before making the pivotal decision to resign and fully commit to his Civil Services Examination preparation. Interestingly, this is not Archit’s first time cracking the UPSC CSE. He had earlier cleared the exam in 2023 with a rank of 153. But his consistent efforts and determination helped him significantly improve his rank in 2024, placing him among the top three in the country.
