Kozhikode, 12 Nov 2025: The 6th Edition of IIM Kozhikode’s (IIMK) Signature International Conclave ‘Globalizing Indian Thought’ was inaugurated here today. Prof. Anil D Sahasrabuddhe, Chairperson, National Educational Technology Forum, Chairperson, Executive Committee, NAAC, Chairperson, NBA and Ambassador Vikas Swarup, Writer & Former Diplomat, Govt. of India were the Guests of Honour for the event and were joined by Prof. Debashis Chatterjee, Conference Chair & Director IIM Kozhikode. The inaugural followed by a SPIC MACAY Performance by Padma Shri Flautist, Pandit Ronu Mazumdar.

The three-day conclave (12-14 Nov) celebrates two momentous milestones– India@100 (2047): Celebrating India’s journey towards becoming a developed and inclusive nation and IIMK@50: Marking five decades of pioneering global Indian thought. Building upon the legacy of the Globalizing Indian Thought (GIT) series, this edition focuses on “Lessons from Invisible India” through the 3Ws Framework: Work, Women, Worldview.

Ambassador Vikas Swarup, commended IIM Kozhikode’s commitment to charting a path for a resurgent India at 2047, observing that “Institutions like IIM Kozhikode stand as living testaments to what Indian excellence looks like.” Speaking on India’s Soft Power as a vital force to Globalize Indian Thought, he said: “India’s soft power is about transformation — about how the world has begun to see us. It rests on our democracy, our development model, and our digital promise. These are the pillars of India’s transformation story, shaping how we engage with and inspire the world.” He added that India’s growing global influence stems from its philosophy of empowering rather than overpowering, reflected in initiatives that strengthen capacity building, digital infrastructure, and sustainable development, positioning India as the natural voice of the developing world.

Committee, NAAC, stated that “India’s century has arrived.” He noted that as the world’s fourth-largest economy, steadily advancing on the Global Innovation Index and creating new avenues of opportunity, India stands at the cusp of an unprecedented transformation. Prof. Sahasrabudhe underscored the nation’s enduring philosophy of peaceful coexistence in a conflict-ridden world. He further emphasized the vital role of educational institutions as entrepreneurial ecosystems, enabling innovation, collaboration, and purpose-driven leadership to realize the vision of Viksit Bharat in the coming decades.
Prof. Debashis Chatterjee, Director, IIM Kozhikode and Conference Chair, said: “Globalizing Indian Thought is about tapping the unmapped potential of India for the world. As we march toward Viksit Bharat @2047, our mission is to transform ancient wisdom into modern action — where work has meaning, women lead with strength, and the Indian worldview shapes a more compassionate, interconnected world.”
The three-day Conclave will feature eminent global voices and thought leaders including Dr. Devi Prasad Shetty, Padma Shri Kiran Vyas, Mr. Erik Solheim, Prof. Anil Gupta, Lt. Gen. A.K. Singh, Mr. Shishir Priyadarshi, and H.E. Ms. Lalatiana Accouche, among others. Special highlights include a photo exhibition by artist Lalit Verma capturing the cultural vibrancy of the Purna Mahakumbh Mela, and a women-led panel exploring themes of leadership, gender, and representation in public life. The Conclave will culminate with the presentation of a Vision Document for Viksit Bharat, offering actionable policy insights and collaborative pathways for India’s journey towards 2047.

About Indian Institute of Management, Kozhikode: The fifth IIM to be established by Govt. of India in 1996, IIMK started its academic journey in 1997 with its flagship Postgraduate Program (PGP).
