The Delhi University Vice Chancellor (DU VC), Prof Yogesh Singh, has been given the additional charge of of the post of Chairman, AICTE. This announcement was made on Dec 22, 2025 by the Ministry of Education (MoE). Prof Yogesh Singh is an Indian academic who is the current and 23rd Vice-Chancellor of Delhi University (DU).

“In pursuance of Order No. 1-11/2021-TS-II dated 17.11.2022, whereby Prof. T. G. Sitharam was appointed as Chairman of the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), and consequent upon the completion of his tenure, Prof. T. G. Sitharam is hereby relieved from his duties in the AICTE with effect from the afternoon of 20.12.2025,” the official notice from Ministry of Education read. “Prof. Yogesh Singh, Vice Chancellor of University of Delhi is hereby entrusted the additional charge of the post of Chairman, AICTE till appointment of a regular Chairman of AICTE or until further orders, whichever is earlier.”

“It is a matter of immense pride to us that our Honourable DU Vice Chancellor, Prof Yogesh Singh, has been entrusted with the additional charge as the Chairman of the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) by the Ministry of Education, Government of India,” University of Delhi (DU) tweeted through their official ‘X’ (earlier known as Twitter) account.

He earned his PhD in computer engineering and MTech in electronics and communication engineering from the National Institute of Technology Kurukshetra, Haryana. Singh assumed the charge of VC of Delhi University in October 2021, and replaced Yogesh Kumar Tyagi.

Singh is the former Vice Chancellor of Delhi Technological University (DTU). Prior to joining DTU in 2015, he served as the Director of Netaji Subhash Institute of Technology-NSIT (now known as Netaji Subhash University of Technology) from 2014 to 2017. He served as the Vice-Chancellor of The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda from 2011 to 2014. From 2001 to 2006, Professor Singh served as the Dean of Information Technology at Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University.
