The Telangana Council of Higher Education (TGCHE) signed a landmark Memorandum of Understanding with the Association of Indian Management Schools (AIMS) on March 24, 2026. Under this non-financial agreement, students and faculty at all TGCHE-affiliated institutions will get free access to AIMS’s academic resources, digital content and capacity-building programmes with a focus on industry-oriented specialisations like Aviation, Defence, Space Technology and Health Management.

What This MoU Means for Telangana Students
This is a direct benefit agreement, not a policy announcement. Students enrolled in colleges and universities affiliated with TGCHE will get access to AIMS’s full suite of academic resources, digital content, faculty development programmes and professional workshops at no cost. The rollout will be handled by TGCHE across all state universities and colleges.
AIMS, which operates its regional base out of Hyderabad, brings a network of over 800 management institutions and global academic linkages to the table. The partnership positions Telangana as a potential model state in management education at the national level.
New Industry-Oriented Management Programmes on the Horizon
One of the most significant outcomes of this MoU is the commitment to launch new, industry-aligned management programmes targeting high-growth sectors in Telangana. These are not traditional MBA subjects but are specialised domains where India needs trained management professionals and currently has very few dedicated programmes.

These programmes align with the Government of Telangana’s vision to build operational excellence and professional competence in sectors that are expected to drive the state’s economy over the next decade — particularly aerospace, defence corridors and health infrastructure.
Free for all students and institutions. The partnership is non-financial in nature — neither TGCHE institutions nor students will bear any cost to access AIMS resources under this agreement. Both parties have also committed to data privacy, intellectual property rights and confidentiality standards.
Benefits for MBA and Management Students in Telangana
Telangana has over 200 management institutions, many of which are affiliated with state universities under TGCHE. For students at these colleges, including those in smaller cities and towns, access to quality digital content, faculty mentoring and professional certification programmes has historically been limited compared to private premium institutions.
This MoU directly addresses that gap. AIMS’s network and content, previously accessible mainly to its member institutions paying annual fees, will now be available to the broader Telangana management education ecosystem at no charge. Faculty exchange and joint publication activity will also help smaller colleges build research credibility and improve NIRF ranking parameters over time.
With AIMS headquartered out of Hyderabad and Telangana being positioned as a model state for this initiative, the on-ground execution is expected to begin relatively quickly unlike many MoUs that remain on paper for extended periods.
The MoU was signed by Prof. Sriram Venkatesh, Secretary, Telangana Council of Higher Education (TGCHE), and Dr. Ch. S. Durga Prasad, Executive Director, Association of Indian Management Schools (AIMS). The signing took place in the presence of Prof. E. Purushotham, Vice-Chairman-I, TGCHE, and Dr. P. Narayana Reddy, Regional Vice-President, AIMS. Prof. V. Balakista Reddy, Chairman, TGCHE, also graced the occasion and spoke on the significance of the collaboration for the future of management education in Telangana.
