Dr. Suresh Ramanathan has taken charge as Chief Executive Officer of International Management Institute (IMI), marking a leadership change at the corporate-sponsored business school group.

In his new role, Ramanathan will have oversight of IMI’s campuses in Delhi, Kolkata and Bhubaneswar. The appointment places him at the centre of the institution’s academic and strategic direction at a time when management education is being reshaped by changing industry expectations, technology-led business models and growing demand for outcome-oriented learning.

Ramanathan has a long academic and leadership background in management education. According to IMI
Kolkata’s faculty profile, he holds a PhD from New York University and has held senior academic roles in India and abroad. His work has included research and teaching in areas such as consumer behaviour, marketing, decision-making and management strategy.
IMI is part of the RP Sanjiv Goenka Group’s education initiatives. In a public professional update, Ramanathan said he had taken up the position of CEO at IMI, with oversight of the institute’s Delhi, Kolkata and Bhubaneswar campuses.

Dr. Ramanathan has spent his career across some of the world’s top academic institutions. Prestigious names are University of Chicago Booth School of Business, Texas A&M University’s Mays Business School, the Stephen M. Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan, HEC Paris, the National University of Singapore (NUS), Nanyang Technological University (NTU) and the Indian School of Business (ISB).
