Why should accreditation play an important part in the selection process of any Institute?
Accreditation serves as an indicator of quality offered by institutions. Accreditation demonstrates if an institution has met or exceeded the set standards of quality. It is a process through which an institute undergoes several assessments and evaluations with respect to Quality Standards set by the Accreditation Committee in the areas of curriculum, faculty, infrastructure, services and facilities and research output.

Based on the assessments the institute is either given certification or some accreditation bodies may also give ratings.

Accreditation is not “Ranking”.
It is important to understand here that any institute can be a member of AMBA or AACSB by paying a fee but that certainly does not make the institute ‘AMBA or AACSB accredited’ and the Institute cannot claim to be accredited.

Accreditation is not a ONE TIME ACTIVITY. It is valid for a particular time frame after which the institute has to again go through the process of assessment. This ensures that the quality is maintained and checked from time to time and continuous improvement processes are in place.
Since the accreditation process demands loads of documentation it also reflects the transparency of the institute.
