The seat reservation policy followed by IIMs is given also below:
- 15% seats at the IIMs are reserved for Scheduled Caste (SC)
- 7.5% seats are reserved for Scheduled Tribe (ST)
- 27% seats are reserved for Other Backward Classes belonging to the ‘non-creamy’ layer (NC-OBC).
While the above categories are fixed the PwD is not always fixed as has been the trend for the past few years. Only those categories mentioned in the Central Government List are considered. This may be changed or altered till the last date of CAT registration. As of now we can safely consider 3-4% seats to be reserved for Persons with Disability (PwD).
During the past six years this is the first time that IIM Calcutta will be conducting the Common Admission Test (CAT).
