Goa Institute of Management (GIM) welcomed 685 students in the Batch of 2026–28 with an induction program. Commencing today, 12th June 2026, students enrolled in the institute’s flagship programs include:

Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) – 304 students
PGDM in Big Data Analytics (PGDM BDA) – 150 students
PGDM in Banking, Insurance and Financial Services (BIFS) – 124 students
PGDM in Healthcare Management (HCM) – 107

Prof. Ajit Parulekar, Director, GIM, said, “At GIM, we believe management education must go beyond functional expertise to nurture ethical leadership and a deep understanding of the societal impact of business decisions. As emerging technologies are transforming industries, our focus remains on developing future-ready leaders who can combine technological competence with human values and purpose.”

The Batch of 2026–28 includes 43% female and 57% male students. Of the 685 students joining GIM’s new batch, 32% are from an engineering background and 68% are from non-engineering disciplines. In addition to this, about 57% of the students bring prior work experience, while the rest are fresh graduates.

The induction program included introductory sessions on:

Generative AI for Business Management
GIM’s institutional AI policy
Data visualisation
Critical thinking
Foreign languages
Professional communications

These sessions provided students with the basic knowledge required to navigate rapidly evolving business and technological landscapes.

Additionally, sessions on Social, Emotional and Ethical Learning (SEE Learning), diversity and inclusion, POSH awareness, mental well-being, and responsible leadership were also a part of the event, providing students with a pathway to become empathetic and socially conscious leaders.

Another major part of the event was freshers’ interactions with GIM alumni, providing insights into evolving industry expectations and career pathways. Additionally, there was an introduction to the entrepreneurship and innovation opportunities being provided by the Institute through its Atal Incubation Centre.
