Amritsar, April 4th: The Indian Institute of Management Amritsar (IIMAm) marked a significant milestone on 4th April 2026, with the successful hosting of its 10th Annual Convocation Ceremony at Festyn Palais, Amritsar.

The ceremony marked a significant milestone in the institute’s journey, as degrees were conferred upon over 300 graduating students from the distinguished Class of 2024–26. This included the tenth batch of the flagship MBA programme, the fourth batches of MBA in Business Analytics (MBA-BA), MBA in Human Resources (MBA-HR), and the Executive MBA (EMBA), the second batch of the MSc in Data Science and Management (MSDSM), a joint program conducted in collaboration with IIT Ropar, along with the first doctoral publication in the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) at IIMAm.
The convocation was graced by an eminent gathering of dignitaries, including Dr Meenesh C Shah, Chairman, National Dairy Development Board (NDDB), who attended as the Chief Guest. The event was further honoured by the presence of Mr Sachit Jain, Board Member, Vice Chairman and Managing Director of Vardhman Special Steels Ltd, Prof Samir K Srivastava, Director, IIMAm, and Prof Rajeev Ahuja, Director, IIT Ropar, along with members of the Board, faculty, staff, media representatives, proud families and distinguished guests.

The convocation proceedings commenced with Mr Jain formally opening the ceremony and addressing the graduating class. In the address, he reflected on the journey from information to knowledge and ultimately wisdom. Drawing from his experience, he encouraged students to remain grounded, value authenticity and pursue meaningful success guided by strong ethics rather than merely chasing conventional measures of achievement. This was followed by an address by Prof Srivastava, who congratulated the graduating batch and reflected on their journey marked by resilience, growth and achievement.
Prof Srivastava highlighted key milestones of the institute over the past year, including its continued progress in academic excellence and research. He noted that the faculty contributed 27 research publications during the year, alongside a notable increase in faculty strength and the institute’s first doctoral publication, marking an important step in its research journey. He also shared placement highlights, with the MBA programme recording an average salary of ₹14.26 lakh per annum and the highest package reaching ₹43 lakh per annum, while the MSDSM programme achieved an average salary of ₹14 lakh per annum.
Emphasizing the role of faculty and institutional support, he appreciated the collective efforts that continue to strengthen IIMAm’s growth. Addressing the graduating students, he encouraged them to think critically, act ethically and remain adaptable in a rapidly evolving world, urging them to demonstrate courage, humility and resilience as they move forward in their professional journeys.

Prof Ahuja also addressed the gathering, sharing insights on the importance of collaboration and responsible leadership in shaping meaningful careers. He encouraged graduates to focus on purpose beyond compensation, make ethical decisions and take ownership of their actions, while valuing relationships and the guidance received from their teachers. He also encouraged students to pursue excellence with purpose and commitment.
Following the addresses, Prof Srivastava and Prof Ahuja formally conferred degrees upon the graduating students across all programmes, marking the culmination of their academic journey and the beginning of their professional endeavours.

Recognizing academic excellence, Prof Srivastava presented the Director’s Merit List across programmes. A total of 23 students were recognised for their consistent academic performance and dedication.
From the MBA programme, the recipients included Mr Hritabhash Ghosh, Mr Bhuvesh Sharma, Ms Divyanshi, Ms Tushya Seth, Ms Nishtha Arora, Mr Chetan Chauhan, Mr Kavinkumar S, Mr Tamilselvan S, Ms Sherryl, Mr Saksham Goyal and Ms Piya Goyal.

From the MBA-BA program, the honourees were Ms Aarushi Srivastava, Ms Preksha Jha and Mr Rajesh Patnaik. Mr Henil Joy, Ms Tanisha and Ms Sonali Gautam received recognition from the MBA-HR program. The EMBA recipients included Mr G Sai Shubham, Ms Sakshi Jajodia and Mr Pranjal Mani, while the MSDSM recipients included Mr Mandeep Singh, Mr Sriram Vishal S and Ms Simran Kaur. These recognitions reflect IIMAm’s unwavering commitment to nurturing academic excellence, leadership and well-rounded talent.

Further celebrating excellence, gold medals were awarded to outstanding students across programmes for highest scholastic achievement and overall performance. Mr Kavinkumar S was awarded the Gold Medal for Best All-Round Performance in the MBA batch, while Mr Ganatra Aditya Rajeshbhai received the Gold Medal for Highest Scholastic Achievement in the MBA cohort. The celebration of academic distinction extended across other programs, with Mr Ritik Joshi (MBA-BA), Ms Garima Arora (MBA-HR), Ms Anjali Singla (EMBA) and Mr Sounaq Das (MSDSM) receiving gold medals for securing the highest academic standing in their respective batches.
Corporate-sponsored awards were also conferred to recognise exemplary achievements across academic and co-curricular domains. Mr Ganatra Aditya Rajeshbhai, Ms Divyanshi and Ms Prakhya Singh were awarded the Bank of Baroda- Outstanding Academic Performance Award, Bank of Baroda- All-Round Performance Award and Bank of Baroda- Sports Excellence Award, respectively.
The ceremony also featured the oath of honour, where graduates reaffirmed their commitment to ethical and responsible professional conduct. This was followed by their formal induction into the IIMAm alumni network, strengthening their lifelong association with the institute.
In his address, Chief Guest Dr Meenesh C Shah highlighted the significant role of agriculture, rural and livestock sectors in driving the economy, particularly emphasizing the vast potential and challenges within the dairy industry. He encouraged graduates to remain curious and proactive in identifying opportunities to enhance productivity, while stressing the importance of inclusivity and sustainable practices across sectors. Reflecting on the rapidly changing global landscape, he advised students to stay grounded in their values and invest in meaningful relationships, noting that these will serve as guiding anchors in both personal and professional journeys.
The 10th Annual Convocation concluded with a jubilant moment when sashes soared into the air, capturing the spirit of achievement and new beginnings, as the graduating class stepped forward to shape the future with knowledge and purpose.
