Amritsar, Punjab: The Indian Institute of Management Amritsar (IIMAm) celebrated the 77th Republic Day with solemn pride and collective enthusiasm on its campus, reflecting the constitutional values that define the nation’s identity.

The ceremony commenced with a warm greeting by the hosts, setting the tone for the day’s proceedings. This was followed by the flag hoisting by Prof Samir K Srivastava, Director, IIMAm. As the Tricolour unfurled, the atmosphere resonated with patriotism and respect.

Addressing the gathering, Prof Srivastava spoke on the ideals of secularism, sovereignty and socialism as enshrined in the Constitution. He emphasised their relevance in shaping responsible citizens and ethical leaders, urging the community to uphold these principles through inclusivity, integrity and mutual respect.
The celebrations were further enlivened by cultural performances by IIMAm students. The programme featured vibrant dance routines, melodious singing and powerful poetry that paid homage to the spirit of the republic and the values of unity and resilience. A disciplined parade added a ceremonial dignity to the occasion.

Following this, Dr Arun Kaushik, Dean of Administration, IIMAm, addressed the audience and reflected on the significance of Republic Day as a reminder of shared responsibility towards nation building. Mementoes were then presented to all performers in appreciation of their contributions.

Extending the celebrations beyond campus, students of IIMAm represented the institute with a dance performance at the Attari-Wagah Border, showcasing India’s cultural richness and drawing appreciation from a wider audience.
