Programme Structure :FPM coursework is flexibly designed and consists of ten courses. Six courses are core and compulsory for all scholars while four courses are electives based on the career goals of the scholar. For FPM (Non-working), the ideal and focused design is for three years (extendable by one year), while for FPM (Working), the course can be completed in a maximum of six years.
Duration of the Programme: A scholar shall submit his/ her Thesis only after a minimum period of two years from the date of registration. However, the maximum period allowed for the submission of the Thesis for FPM (Non-working Scholars) is four years and for FPM (Working Executives) is six years from the date of admission to the Programme. Thereafter, an extension will be given subject to satisfactory progress made and circumstances.
Eligibility for Admission:
- A master’s degree in any discipline with at least 60% marks (with first division) or equivalent grade point average recognized by AICTE /AIU with a Bachelor’s degree/equivalent qualification after completing higher secondary schooling (10+2).
- Five-year integrated Master’s Degree Programme in any discipline with at least 60% marks (with first division), obtained after completing higher secondary schooling (10+2).
- For FPM (Non-working), students appearing for their final examinations in the respective disciplines can also apply. Such candidates will be required to produce original certificate/mark sheets by October 15, 2023, failing which they may be asked to withdraw from the program.
- For FPM (Working Scholars), a maximum age limit of 50 years is permissible, and age will not be a limitation for meritorious and deserving candidates. A work experience of ten years at the senior level will be preferred.
Admission Procedure:
- All shortlisted candidates will be administered an in-house test for selection, followed by a presentation of the research proposal/motivation and a panel interview.
- Candidates may also submit CAT / GMAT / GRE / UGC-JRF / GATE scores of the last three years, if available.
Application and Selection Procedure:
- Applicants are required to apply online by visiting the LBSIM website at forms.lbsim.ac.in for filling out the online form after making a payment of Rs. 1500/- and attaching all certificates for ascertaining the eligibility for the program.
- Shortlisted candidates will be provided a template for making a presentation before the selection panel and will be required to appear in a personal interview. The presentation and personal interview will take place on the same day.
Fee Structure :
The annual fees and other expenses for FPM (Non-working) and FPM (Working) are given below.

Financial Support :
- LBSIM provides financial supports to FPM (Non-working scholars). FPM Scholars (Non-working) scholars are given Rs 30000/- per month for the first two years from the date of joining the FPM. For the remaining duration (maximum two years), FPM Scholars (Non-working) are paid 35000/- per month. The stipend is paid only for a maximum period of four years from the date of joining the program, subject to the satisfactory academic performance of the candidates in the quarterly review.
- In addition to the stipend, the institute also reimburses a maximum of 50000/- expenditure incurred by the research scholar on research-related activities during the program. The hostel facility is available on a payment basis.
