The Post Graduate Diploma in Business Analytics (PGDBA) – is jointly offered by IIM Calcutta, IIT Kharagpur, and Indian Statistical Institute (ISI). Each of the three institutes will focus on a separate area of business analytics, in accordance with its expertise and competence.
The PGDBA is a two-year full time residential diploma programme aimed at creating business analytics professionals is designed for those who have an analytical mind-set, are interested in tackling challenging business problems, and possess an inclination towards mathematics.
Eligibility: Applicant must hold a Graduate/Post graduate degree such as B. Tech./ B.E./ M.Sc./ M.Com. or equivalent under 10+2+4/10+2+5/10+2+3+2, with at least 60% marks or CGPA 6.5 on a 10-point scale in the Qualifying Degree. Those with 10+2+3 (Engineering diploma) + 3 (lateral entry into B.E./B.Tech.) with at least 60% marks or CGPA 6.5 on a 10-point scale in the Qualifying Degree (B. Tech./ B.E.) or with 10+2+4 (B.Sc.) with at least 60% marks or CGPA 6.5 on a 10-point scale in the Qualifying Degree (B. Sc.) or with B.Com. + CA with at least 60% marks (Intermediate and Final examinations of the CA considered together) are also eligible. For SC/ ST and Person with Disabilities (PwD) category candidates, the qualifying marks for eligibility shall be 55% or CGPA 6.0 on a 10-point scale. Those in the final year of the qualifying course are also eligible to apply.
Shortlisting: Applicants will be shortlisted for Personal Interview (PI) based on their score in the PGDBA-2021 entrance exam to be held on 9.5.2021 (Sunday) at Centres across the country asper the list given at https://www.iimcal.ac.in/important-information
The test of 3 hours’ duration will have 50 Multiple-Choice Questions (MCQ) from Verbal Ability (15 questions), Logical Reasoning (5) questions Data Interpretation and Data Visualization (5) and Quantitative Aptitude (25). Each question carries 3 marks. 1 mark will be deducted for each incorrectly answered question.
Final score for selection is calculated on the basis of entrance exam score (45 % weightage) Personal Interview (40), Points for Class XII marks (8) and Work experience (7). Details may be seen at https://www.iimcal.ac.in/programs/PGDBA.
