The Noida campus of Amity University, Uttar Pradesh organised the 19th Convocation Ceremony for the Class of 2023. The nine-day long ceremony kicked off on Friday, December 8 and continued till Saturday, December 16.
The students of the Noida Campus who have successfully completed their Academic Programmes have attended the Annual Convocation.
More than 17,000 students received their degrees, diplomas, certificates, medals and trophies from different domains including Management, Engineering and Technology, Allied Sciences, Agriculture, Rehabilitation Sciences, Law, Journalism, Mass Communication, Fine Arts, Performing Arts and Fashion Technology and others.
Honorary Doctorate was conferred upon Dr. N. Kalaiselvi, Secretary, DSIR at the Department of Scientific & Industrial Research, and DG, Council of Scientific & Industrial Research, Dr. Bhaba Nanda Das, Cardio Thoracic & Vascular Surgeon at Indraprastha Apollo Hospital, and Padma Shri Prof. (Dr.) Mahipal S. Sachdev, Chairman, Centre for Sight, New Delhi. Additionally, the Honorary Professorship was conferred upon Dr. Rakesh Mahajan, Senior Consultant at Endovascular and Vascular Surgeon, Indraprastha Apollo Hospitals, and Dr. Sanjiv Kandhari, MD and Consultant Dermatologist at Dr. Kandhari’s Skin and Dental Clinic, New Delhi.
Dr. N. Kalaiselvi, expressed her gratitude for receiving the award, and said that the day is not far when Amity will become the topmost University in the world.
“Amity Alumni are the most distinguished alumni in the world, with good sanskaars and values imbibed in them,” said Dr Ashok K Chauhan, the Founder President of Amity Education Group.
Speaking at the event, Dr (Prof) Balvinder Shukla, Vice Chancellor of Amity University, Uttar Pradesh said that the university focuses on the holistic development of the students with over 200 value-added programmes, over 20,000 research papers published, more than 2000 patents filed and more than 40 Technology transfers.
During Convocation 2023, 232 students were awarded Shri Baljit Shastri Award for ‘Best in Human & Traditional Values’, while 24 students were awarded Corporate awards. Apart from this, ‘Best All Rounder Trophies’ were awarded to the students. A total of 380 PhDs, 692 academic Awards and 72 Appreciation certificates were also presented.
