IIM Visakhapatnam Convocation: The Indian Institute of Management Visakhapatnam (IIM V) hosted its ninth annual convocation here on Saturday. A total of 378 students, including 153 women, graduated this year.

Board of Governors chairperson Hari S Bhartia formally declared the convocation open while the institute’s Director M. Chandrasekhar highlighted the growth over the past decade. He spoke about achievements such as expansion of executive education programmes from 8 in 2020 to 208 today, upcoming launch of a modular MBA programme for defence executives, and contributions to entrepreneurship through IIMV-FIELD.

Addressing the gathering, Mr. Bhartia spoke about the importance of entrepreneurship, urging students to pursue innovation and excellence in their careers.
Dalmia Bharat Group chief executive officer Puneet Yadu Dalmia, as the chief guest, urged graduates to dream big, take risks, and embrace failure as a stepping stone to success.
Degrees were awarded to 375 MBA graduates and 3 Ph.D. scholars. Ms. Muskan Sharma received the IIM-V Gold Medal for securing the first rank, while Mr. Rahul Pradeep was awarded the IIM-V Gold Medal for securing the second rank. Ms. Muskan Sharma also received the Vani Row Memorial Gold Medal for being the Best Female student. Shah Vrund Bhavinkumar was honoured with the IIM-V Gold Medal for Best All-Round performance. The Motaparthy Ramachandramma Memorial Award for the best female student in Finance & Accounting Courses was presented to Ms. Kriti Jangir. Additionally, Nandan Kumar Singh was awarded the V.S. Prasad Memorial Award for the best Ph.D. thesis in Management.

According to IIMV officials, the highest stipend offered was Rs. 3.5 lakh for the two-month internship, a 46% increase from last year.

- The average stipend across the batch was about Rs 69,000.
- The average stipend for the top 5% is Rs. 2.09 lakh
- The top 10% earns an average of Rs 1.82 lakh
- The top 25% have an average stipend of Rs. 1.33 lakh
- The average stipend for the top 50% is Rs. 96,879.
- The highest stipend offered was Rs. 3.5 lakh
IIMV Conclude Summer Placements for 2024 -26 batch with highest SIP 3.5 lakh
IIMV saw participation from both new and existing recruiters across various industries and domains. The summer placement season, held on a rolling basis, featured over 130 companies that extended multiple offers. These offers came from a diverse range of industries, including IT/ITeS, BFSI, consulting, pharma, FMCG, etc.
