How to apply in the round of offers?
In every offer round, candidates must log in to the COAP 2025 portal to view and respond to available offers. If a candidate fails to access the portal or does not make a decision within a given round, all offers from that round — including any previously retained offers — will be automatically marked as “Rejected.”
Additionally, if a candidate had previously selected the “Retain and Wait” option but does not log in or fails to submit a decision in a later round, all offers from that round (including the retained offer) will be considered rejected as well.
The COAP 2025 portal has released a detailed schedule outlining the key dates for all 10 rounds of offers, including the time frame within which candidates must respond and the options available at each stage.
All About GATE Exam
If a candidate selects the “Retain & Wait” option for a specific institute and program twice in previous rounds, they cannot choose it a third time for the same offer. During Rounds 1 to 4, candidates have three choices: “Accept & Freeze”, “Retain & Wait”, or “Reject.”

However, “Retain & Wait” can only be used twice for the same offer, meaning if a candidate has already selected it twice, they must either accept the offer or reject it in the next round. Additionally, candidates must actively select “Retain & Wait” in every eligible round; otherwise, their offer will be automatically rejected if no action is taken. Round 5 is a Decisive Round, meaning candidates can only choose between “Accept & Freeze” or “Reject.” No “Retain & Wait” option is available at this stage.
About COAP: The Common Offer Acceptance Portal (COAP) was initiated in 2017 to provide a common platform for the registered candidates seeking admission to make the most preferred choice for admission into an M Tech Admission in participating Institutes, or job offer from participating Public Sector Undertaking (PSUs).
