Dr Ankush Mittal, A distinguished Academician , Visionary Leader in Education and an eminent Researcher joins as Vice-Chancellor of COER University, Roorkee, Uttarakhand.
Dr. Mittal’s academic journey began with a B. Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering (B Tech CSE) from IIT Delhi in 1996, followed by a Master’s degree in 1998. He received PhD degree from National University of Singapore in 2001.
Dr. Mittal has a rich and diverse experience in the field of Computer Science (CSE). His Stellar performance earned him the prestigious Samsung Fellowship during his Graduate days in IIT Delhi. He has also received several national and international Awards such as the ‘Young Scientist Award’ from the President and Prime Minister of India, the IIT Roorkee ‘Outstanding Teacher Award’, and the ‘Most Innovative Leadership Award’ from London School of Digital Business.
Having worked at prestigious Institutions such as Indian Institute of Technology Delhi, National University of Singapore, and Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee. Dr Mittal continued to make significant contributions in the field of Education and Research. He played a pivotal role as “Director of Research“ for both College of Engineering Roorkee and Graphic Era University in fostering the culture of Research amongst the Undergraduates.
His Research Legacy is evident through 280+ research papers in esteemed Journals and conferences which includes IEEE transactions, EEE transactions Springer Publishing and Elsevier. His influence has extended to literature also and he has co-authored three books published by Pearson (India), Springer (Germany), and IGI Global (USA). He penned two non-academic books “ Performing Life Lessons” and
“ Awakening Hearts on Stage” – both are fascinating collections of plays.
As a mentor, he has supervised 15 Ph.D. thesis, guided 43 M.Tech. thesis, and supported 50+ B.Tech. thesis at The National University of Singapore and IIT Roorkee. His expertise secured 8 research grants from different funding agencies– which reflects his commitment to advancing knowledge.
Beyond his academic pursuits , Dr Mittal is passionate about philosophy and teaching students at all levels. He has conducted several Teacher Training workshops in IIT Roorkee, BITS Pilani and Infosys.
