IIT Delhi Gets New Director: IIT Bombay Professor Rangan Banerjee has been appointed as the next director of IIT Delhi, the incumbent director of the institute Prof Ramgopal Rao announced Monday.
Dr. V. Kamakoti is the next Director of IIT Madras
Banerjee, a Forbes Marshall Chair Professor in IIT Bombay, is a B Tech (Mechanical) from the same institute. Later, he obtained a PhD (Mechanical Engineering), also from IIT Bombay.

The search-cum-selection panel constituted for this purpose had interviewed the shortlisted candidates in September last year.
Dr. Rangan Banerjee: Done B.Tech (Mechanical) & PhD (Mechanical Engg.) from IIT Bombay. Professor Banerjee is on the editorial board of International Journal of Sustainable Energy, International Journal of Sustainable Engineering, International Journal of Thermodynamics, Solar Energy Advances, Global Transitions (Energy Transitions). He has been involved in setting up a Megawattscale Solar Thermal Power Testing, Simulation, Research Facility sponsored by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy.
