NEW DELHI, SEP 29, 2026, CLAT 2027: The Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs) has officially opened the online portal for the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2027. Aspiring law candidates can now register for admissions into undergraduate (5-year integrated LL.B.) and postgraduate (1-year LL.M.) degree programmes for the academic session 2027–2028.

CLAT serves as the primary national-level entrance examination for securing admission into 26 participating National Law Universities across India. Beyond the NLUs, various private affiliate universities and public sector undertakings (PSUs) also utilize CLAT scores for law school admissions and recruitment processes, respectively.

CLAT 2027 Exam Structure & Overview

A.. Undergraduate (UG) Programme

Eligibility: Candidates must have completed or be appearing for their Higher Secondary Certificate (10+2) examination or its equivalent from a recognized board.
Test Format: Comprehension-based objective test designed to evaluate critical thinking, reading comprehension, logical reasoning, legal aptitude, quantitative techniques, and current affairs knowledge.

B. Postgraduate (PG) Programme

Eligibility: Candidates must hold an LL.B. degree or an equivalent qualifying qualification from a recognized university.
Test Format: Evaluates foundational legal knowledge, Constitutional Law, jurisprudence, and various primary domains of law through mandatory objective assessment questions.
