IIM Amritsar PhD Admission
IIM Lucknow PhD eligibility criteria
- A Master’s degree or its equivalent in any discipline with a minimum of 55 percent aggregate marks.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a four-year graduate degree with at least 65 per cent marks or equivalent grade point average.
- Professional qualifications such as CA (Chartered Accountant), ICWA (Cost Accountant), or CS (Company Secretary) with a minimum of 55 percent aggregate marks, along with a B.Com. undergraduate degree.
- A two or three-year full-time classroom-based Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) from any of the IIMs with a minimum CGPA of 6 on a 10-point scale or 60 per cent.
- PGP-WE (formerly WMP) of IIM Lucknow with a minimum CGPA of 6.
- Additionally, all applicants must have secured at least 55 per cent marks in all their examinations from the 10th standard onwards.
IIM Lucknow PhD Admission Process
Candidates will be shortlisted for an interview based on valid scores from one of the following examinations:
- Common Admission Test (CAT) conducted by the IIMs
Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE)
- Graduate Record Examinations (GRE)
- Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT)
- Junior Research Fellowship/Senior Research Fellowship (JRF/SRF) from UGC/CSIR/ICAR
Scores from these examinations, including CAT, taken on or after 1 January 2023, will be considered valid. Applicants with the qualifications mentioned in points 4 and 5 above are exempted from these tests and can apply directly.
How to apply: Interested candidates can apply online through the official IIM Lucknow website. The application fee is Rs. 1,000 for general candidates and Rs. 500 for SC/ST candidates, payable online.
Financial support
Fellowship stipend: Rs. 35,000 per month during the first and second years, increasing to Rs. 40,000 per month from the third year onwards upon successful completion of the comprehensive examination.
Contingency grant: Rs. 10,000 per annum in the first and second years, and Rs.15,000 per annum during the third and fourth years, for expenses related to books, stationery, and computer hardware/software.
Computer purchase grant: A one-time grant of Rs. 50,000, available before the end of the coursework.
Conference support: Funding ranging from Rs. 1,40,000 to Rs. 1,60,000 (subject to CGPA) to attend one international conference after submitting the thesis proposal, and up to two domestic conferences in the third and fourth years.
