IIT Dharwad M Tech Admission 2024: Indian Institute of Technology, Dharwad, opens application for its M Tech programme in CSE, Electrical Engineering with specializations and Mechanical Engineering. Minimum Eligibility Criteria
- Valid GATE score Valid GATE score in CSE (GATE paper code: CS) is essential for all the candidates, except for candidates who have B.Tech. or equivalent degree in CSE and allied branches from IITs or BS degree or equivalent degree in CSE or allied branches from IISc with a minimum CPI/CGPA of 8.0 on the scale of 10.

For General/General (EWS)/OBC category candidates and/or for candidates where no concession in academic performance is called for, the eligibility criteria in the qualifying degree (B.Tech./B.E.) is either:
- a minimum of 60% marks (without round off) in aggregate over the entire duration of the undergraduate program.
- a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) or Cumulative Performance Index (CPI) of 6.0 on the scale of 0-10; with corresponding proportional requirements when the scales are other than on 0-10, (for example, 4.8 on a scale of 0-8).
- Candidates with MSc in Computer Science have eligibility criteria of a minimum of 60% marks in both BSc in Computer Science and MSc in Computer Science.
- Candidates with MCA have eligibility criteria of a minimum of 60% marks in both BCA and MCA.
- For SC/ST/PwD category candidates, a relaxation of 5% in the performance at the qualifying degree is applicable.

General Procedure for Applying
- For candidates with GATE score – The applications for M.Tech. in IIT Dharwad through Common Offer Acceptance Portal (COAP ) are based on GATE score. Regular admissions shall be made through the Common Offer Acceptance Portal (COAP). The following are the steps to follow to apply for an M.Tech. Program as IIT Dharwad:
Step 1 – All interested and eligible candidates are required to register on COAP. Note the COAP registration number.
Step 2 – Submit the online M.Tech. application using the application link provided on IIT Dharwad M.Tech. Admission portal.
Step 3 – As per the COAP schedule of various rounds for finalizing offers, the candidates can access and confirm the results on the COAP portal.
- For candidates who have B.Tech. or equivalent degree from IITs or BS degree from IISc with Minimum CPI/CGPA of 8.0:
Follow Step 2 above – Submit the application directly and mention IIT_IISc_UG for all COAP and GATE-related fields in the application form. Offers will be conveyed through email.
Application Process: Upgrade requests from MTech/MS to PhD should be submitted through the supervisor along with a research proposal for PhD programme. The student will have to present the research proposal in front of the RPC/DPGC which will then give its recommendation on upgrade request from MS/MTech to PhD.
