Indian Institute of Technology, IIT Madras has opened admissions to its 4-year BS in Data Science and Applications course. An extended form of the B.Sc in Programming and Data Science, IIT Madras has mentioned that even class 12 students can apply for this BS course. More details are available on the official website
IT Madras’ BS in Data Science and Applications course comes with the added advantage of ‘no JEE.’ The official release by the institute mentions that by applying for this 4-year long course, students don’t have to appear or compete at Joint Entrance Examination, JEE, while they will also get an opportunity to secure admissions in IIT M while in class 12th.
Listing the benefits of this course, apart from no JEE requirement, the official release from IIT Madras mentions, “Students who complete the 4-year BS can appear for GATE and pursue an MTech in India, or apply for postgraduate degrees abroad. They can credit an 8-month apprenticeship with companies or research institutes in their final year.”
