What is JAM?
The Joint Admission Test for Masters (JAM) is a national-level entrance exam conducted annually for students aspiring to pursue advanced education – postgraduate courses, including MSc, Joint MSc-PhD, MSc-PhD dual degree, and other PG science degrees at top Indian institutes in science and technology at IITs and other top institutes.
A total of 89 PG programmes will be offered across 22 IITs for the academic year 2026–27, covering more than 3,000 seats. Candidates who qualify JAM 2026 will be eligible for admission to participating institutes, subject to meeting the Minimum Educational Qualifications (MEQs) and Eligibility Requirements (ERs) defined by each institute.
