NIT Jamshedpur B Tech Placement 2024: National Institute of Technology (NIT) Jamshedpur, one of the prestigious Engineering Institutes of the country has achieved a remarkable milestone in its placement season, with six students securing annual packages of Rs 83 lakh each. These high-paying job offers were extended by Atlassian, a multinational IT company based in Australia. The recipients of this outstanding placement offer consist of three students from the Computer Science branch and three from the Electrical Engineering branch. All six students have successfully secured their placements and will be joining the company at their designated dates.

Admission to these institutes, considered the pinnacle of technical education, is granted through the highly competitive Indian Institute of Technology Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA).

In total, 663 B.Tech students received 919 job offers during this placement season. Impressively, 64.63% of postgraduate students have also successfully landed placements.

A remarkable 91.49% of MCA students have secured placements, which itself is a huge achievement. Moreover, 65.26% of students from other B.Tech branches have successfully secured internships, while 56.13% of students pursuing various engineering courses have also obtained internships during the 2023-24 placement session.

National Institute of Technology Jamshedpur, earlier known as Regional Institute of Technology was established on 15th August 1960 as a joint venture of Government of India and the Government of Bihar in the chain of REC’s (Regional Engineering College) in India with the aim to generate technical graduates of highest standards who could provide technological leadership to the region. It was among the first eight Regional Engineering Colleges (RECs) established as part of the Second Five-Year Plan (1956 – 1961). This was the only REC in the country which was named as RIT (Regional Institute of Technology).
