Shiv Nadar University, Delhi-NCR, has announced the appointment of Professor Rajesh Chakrabarti as the new Dean of its School of Management and Entrepreneurship. A distinguished academician and policy advisor, Professor Chakrabarti brings with him over two decades of leadership, research, and teaching experience across premier institutions in India and abroad.
Professor Chakrabarti holds a Ph.D. in Management from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), and is an alumnus of both IIM Ahmedabad and Presidency College, Kolkata. His academic and professional journey includes significant roles at renowned institutions such as the Indian School of Business (ISB), MDI Gurgaon, Jindal Global Business School, Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology, and Bennett University.
Renowned for his work in Indian financial markets, corporate governance, development finance, and public policy, Professor Chakrabarti has authored ten books, including Grit, Guts and Gumption, Bihar Breakthrough, and Public Policy in India: A Short Introduction (Oxford University Press). His research and insights have appeared in top-tier academic journals such as the Journal of Financial Economics and in outlets like The Financial Express. His case studies have also been published by Harvard Business Publishing.
He has held visiting or faculty positions at globally recognized institutions including the Wharton School, Georgia Tech, University of Alberta, and the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta. Additionally, he has served on editorial boards of several scholarly journals, including Corporate Governance: An International Review.
Professor Chakrabarti’s association with think tanks such as the India Development Foundation and the Centre for Development Policy and Practice reflects his commitment to bridging academic research with real-world policy challenges.
