The summer internship placements (SIPs) for the class of 2018-20 at the top management schools of the country, has been going great. Most of the Business Schools have reported decent roles and lucrative stipends being offered by the corporate for the 2 months stint.
IIM Bangalore: At IIM Bangalore, students had offers from consulting, e-commerce and financial verticals. All 427 students found an internship program being offered by over 100 companies. A total of 442 roles were offered by these companies which included strategy consulting, niche consulting, business analytics, investment banking, capital markets, corporate finance, commercial banking, sales and marketing, product management, operations, category management and general management. Amazon recruited 36 students.

S. P. Jain Institute of Management and Research: SPJIMR Mumbai wrapped up its summer placements. Boston Consulting Group (BCG) & Reckitt Benckiser offered the highest stipend of INR 3 lacs each for the eight-week internship period. Average stipend offered is INR 1.98 Lacs. There were 330 offers for 236 students. Last year, average stipends were INR 1.84 lacs.
Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) has successfully completed its summer placements for its largest ever batch of 321 students being placed across 90 companies. While the highest stipend increased to INR 3.2 Lacs for 2 month, the average stipend stood at INR 1.48 Lacs. The average stipend for the top 50% of the batch is INR 2.2 Lacs. A rise of 8% increase despite a 15% increase in batch size is commendable.
Management Development Institute: MDI Gurgaon completed summer placements for the batch size of 359 students, with average stipend offered being 2 lacs plus. The highest stipend was of INR 3.2 lacs for the 2 month internship and the average stipend was INR 2.1 lacs. LÓreal offered the highest stipend of INR 3.2 lacs. Highest SIP offer last year at MDI was made by Godrej which was of INR 3 Lacs.
Xavier School of Management: XLRI Jamshedpur has completed its SIP for the batch of 2018-20 comprising of 362 students. The highest stipend offered was INR 3.3 Lacs for 2 month. The SIP process saw participation of over 95 companies offering roles across domains including consulting, finance, sales and marketing, operations, business development (BM), human resources (HR) and industrial relations (IR). Boston Consulting Group hired 13 candidates.
IIM Lucknow reported to have 100% summer placements for 455 students of the 34th batch (2018-20). The top roles offered were sales & marketing (28%), consulting (22%), e-commerce (19 %), finance (17%), general management (11%) and systems/IT (3%).

Tata Institute of Social Sciences: TISS Mumbai completed SIPs for students of its two-year post-graduate programme in HRM and labour relations. The average stipend for the batch is INR 2.04 Lacs for 2 month. ITC, Hindustan Unilever and Reckitt Benckiser offered the highest stipend of INR 3 Lacs.
JBIMS Mumbai: Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies (JBIMS), completed its summer placements with a total of 52 companies participating in the process. The highest stipend offered at the institute was INR 5.5 lacs for two months. The average stipend for the batch of 2020 was INR 1.89 lacs.
FMS Delhi: A total of 215 students out of the total strength of 230 of the 2018-20 batch opted for Summer placements. 81 Recruiters have made the offers to all the 215 across 16 sectors. The highest stipend offered is Rs. 2 Lacs for a month with average stipend for the top half at Rs. 1.23 Lacs.
