The 24th Convocation of the PGDM program of Vignana Jyothi Institute of Management (VJIM), Hyderabad was conducted with solemn grandeur at the Bachupally campus of the institute on 18th May 2018.
The Chief Guest of the occasion was Dr Srinivas Kandula, CEO, Capgemini-India Operations Speaking on the occasion the Chief Guest, Dr Srinivas Kandula, CEO, Capgemini-India Operations said, “The grandaunts are stepping across a very important threshold and crossing over to a world of opportunity, welcomed by great challenges and great possibilities.
Dwelling upon the Indian education system he opined that the system needs changes in line with developed countries, to impart employability rather than just theoretical knowledge.” He suggested that the education system should be capable building society and building the nation. He spoke about the need of building skills for facing the challenges, future career advancement and positive outlook for success.
The ceremony was presided over by Dr D N Rao, President, Vignana Jyothi. In his address he touched upon the diverse cultural manifestation of Globalisation resulting out of flatteners like wireless, Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP), file sharing used on various devices like mobile phones, personal digital assistants, note pads, sharing entertainment to photography to word processing which can be shaped, manipulated, transmitted at a high speed.
Dr DN Rao emphasised the benefits the countries like China and India gained out of these phenomenon. He also dealt with the increasing protectionism in developed countries. He stressed the imperative of the world accepting globalization despite this protectionist stand.
Dr Ch S Durgaprasad, Director, VJIM, outlined the steady progress made by the institute from the time of its inception 25 years ago to the present day having grown in volume from 60 students a batch to 240 students. This Silver Jubilee year, VJIM is accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA) and has been rated “A” at the national level and “A**” at the state level by CRISIL. He informed that 217 students are being conferred the Post Graduate Diploma in Management.
As many as 83 companies visited VJIM campus, and out of them around 60% of the companies are repeat recruiters, indicating that VJIM students have made a mark in the progress and growth of these companies.
The convocation ceremony was attended by members of the Vignana Jyothi Society, guests from the corporate, academia, faculty members and students. The chief guest gave away the medals and prizes. Gandham Bhargavi won the Meritorious Gold medal, while Poojitha Namburibest female student award. The Medal for Ethical behavior was bagged by Swetha Nadella while the best Summer Project award was given to K Soujanya. Source: The Hans India
