Vishwa Vishwani Institute of Systems and Management VVISM Hyderabad Social Venture Contest ‘Social Spark-24’
A Social Venture Contest is being organised by Vishwa Vishwani Institute of Systems and Management (VVISM) to promote the startup culture in the social sector by college students in the twin cities. The Contest is codenamed ‘Social Spark-24’.
Eligibility
The Contest is open to all UG/PG full-time college going students for the Colleges located in Hyderabad and Secunderabad region. The Contest entries are to be routed through the Director/Dean/Principal of respective institutions. The entries may be submitted individually or as a team of a maximum of three students.
Contest Format
The proposed social venture must pertain to some common good of the society like education, healthcare, livelihoods, sanitation, environment, waste management etc. The contest entries are to be submitted online in the following format:
- Social Venture Name, Logo, Vision and Mission
- One page summary of Business Plan- format will be shared
- BMC of the proposed social venture
- Pilot project and/or prototype details, if developed
- Quantitative Impact Assessment Plan
- Investor’s Pitch deck clearly outlining the monetisation and revenue stream
- Plagiarism Check and certification by respective college faculty (mandatory)
Selection Process
Contest entries will be scrutinized by a panel of faculty members and experts from the social sector. Eight finalists will be required to pitch their ventures to the Jury in-person. The finalist teams can use VVISM transport for travelling to VVISM campus and back.
Timeline
Submission of on-line entries: 10th December 2023, 5 PM IST Shortlisting of Finalists: 10th January 2024
Final Round of the Contest (in-person) at VVISM campus: 8th February 2024
Prizes: The Social venture contest winners will get Rs One Lakh in cash prize along with a certificate and a book on Social Entrepreneurship. Prizes will be awarded as follows:
- Social Spark Winner: Rs 50,000 1st Runner-up: Rs 30,000
- 2nd Runner up: Rs 20,000
Registration
All the contest participants must register online and pay a token fee of Rs 500 per entry. After registration, the contestants will receive a login ID and password for submitting their Social Venture Plan online.
