FPM Admission Process:
All applicants to the FPM / EFPM doctoral programmes at XLRI Xavier School of Management, Jamshedpur must write an entrance test and have a valid test score. A score in any ONE of the following entrance tests is considered valid for this purpose:
- Xavier Scholar Entrance Test (XSET) to be conducted on Sunday, Jan 4th, 2026.
- National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) for the University Grants Commission (UGC), India, in or after October 2024
- Graduate Aptitute Test in Engineering (GATE) conducted jointly by the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) and the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), in or after February 2023
All applicants to the FPM / EFPM are automatically screened for taking the XSET (there is no separate application). A candidate, who fulfills the basic eligibility criteria for FPM / EFPM, will receive a notification along with the admit card for taking the XSET.
Eligibility Criteria
- An applicant to FPM/EFPM must have a Bachelor’s/Master’s degree from any university incorporated by an act of the central or state legislature in India, or other educational institutions established by an act of parliament or declared as Deemed-to-be-University under Section 3 of UGC act, 1956, (or)
- must have an equivalent qualification recognized by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India or the AICTE (or)
- must have an equivalent qualification from a foreign educational institution accredited by an assessment and accreditation agency that is approved, recognized or authorized by an authority established or incorporated under a law in its home country or any other statutory authority in that country to assess, accredit, or assure quality and standards of the educational institution.
- More specifically, applicants with at least one of the following categories of educational qualifications, are eligible to apply to the FPM/EFPM at XLRI:
- A 1-year/2-semester Master’s degree after a 4-year/8-semester Bachelor’s degree, with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade in a point scale, wherever grading system is followed, (or)
- A 2-year/4-semester Master’s degree after a 3-year/6-semester Bachelor’s degree, with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade in a point scale, wherever grading system is followed, (or)
- A 5-year Integrated Master’s degree obtained after completing higher secondary education (10+2) or equivalent, with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade in a point scale, wherever grading system is followed, (or)
- A M. Phil. degree, with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade in a point scale, wherever grading system is followed, (or)
- A qualification declared equivalent to the Master’s degree by the corresponding statutory regulatory body, as for example, a professional qualification like CA, with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade in a point scale, wherever grading system is followed, (or)
- a 4-year/8-semester Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 75% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade on a point scale wherever the grading system is followed. (or)
- An equivalent qualification to any of the above, from a foreign educational institution accredited by an assessment and accreditation agency that is approved, recognized or authorized by an authority established or incorporated under a law in its home country or any other statutory authority in that country to assess, accredit, or assure quality and standards of the educational institution.
Financial AID Enhanced for Full Time (FPM) Scholars
- An FPM scholar is awarded a fellowship of Rs. 45,000/- per month during the 1st and 2nd year, and Rs. 50,000/- per month for the next two years in addition to tuition waiver,
