IIM Ahmedabad placement 2022: Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (IIM A) Released Executive PGPX Placement report for the batch 2022. For the first time since 2015, the information technology (IT) sector lost its spot as the top recruiter of Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad’s (IIM-A) PGPX (one-year executive MBA ) course in 2022. As against an average 44 recruitments in the last three years, the 2022 placements saw only 17 students opting for the IT sector jobs. The IT sector was the third top recruiter after consulting (41) and online services (24). The median salary rose by 21% from Rs 30 lakh annual maximum earning potential ( MEP ) for the past three years to Rs 36.2 lakh.

Prof Ankur Sinha, chairperson of placements at IIM-A, said that there could be a post-pandemic rise in demand. “(Rise in consulting offers) could be well related to the rising number of projects in the consulting space as a number of firms are undergoing transition post-pandemic,” he said.

The annual maximum earning potential (MEP) for the graduates of IIM-A’s PGPX – one-year executive MBA – programme for 2022 was three-year low at Rs 75.2 lakh in domestic placements. In 2020 and 2021, the maximum package offered were Rs 81 lakh and Rs 82 lakh respectively which were the highest packages since 2015.

The data was released in the audited Indian Placement Reporting Standard (IPRS) report for 2022 placements on Thursday. This year, there were five international offers, which were the highest in the past four years. In 2018, the programme placement had seen five international placements. All five offers were from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The median foreign salary was $1,50,297.
The companies made 172 offers to 121 students who opted for placements. The year saw 20 new companies. According to the report, Accenture made the highest number of offers followed by Adani Digital .
Compared to 2, 3 and 1 student opting for entrepreneurship in 2019, 2020 and 2021, this year saw four taking the entrepreneurship route.

Prof Ankur Sinha, the chairperson of placements at the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad, said that the post-pandemic statistics show a significant positive surge in the placement figures, which could well be because of the firms coming stronger after the pandemic.

“Online services, IT and Healthcare continues to remain strong with 45 offers out of 119. However, consulting companies alone extended 41 offers to our students – 36 domestic and 5 international – which indicates an uptick in consulting hiring as compared to the previous years,” he said. “This could be well related to the rising number of projects in the consulting space as a number of firms are undergoing transition post-pandemic.” Interestingly, all four years saw different sectors as top paymasters.
