JEE Advanced 2026: IIT Roorkee (Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee) has officially confirmed that JEE Advanced 2026 will take place on May 17, 2026, in computer-based mode at centres across the country. The entrance test for admission to the Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT) will run for six hours, split into two compulsory papers of three hours each. The full examination schedule, and details of the test cities, will be released shortly on the official website jeeadv.ac.in. Question papers will be set in English and Hindi, and candidates must appear for both Paper 1 and Paper 2 for their scores to be considered. As per the current plan, Paper 1 will run from 9 am to 12 pm, while Paper 2 will take place from 2.30 pm to 5.30 pm.

Only candidates who rank within the top 2.5 lakh in JEE Main 2026 will be eligible to sit the Advanced exam.
JEE Main will be held in two phases next year — the first session from January 21 to 30 and the second from April 2 to 9. Those meeting the required cut-off will be invited to register for JEE Advanced.

The eligibility rules also include an age requirement. Applicants must be born on or after October 1, 2001, with a five-year age relaxation for candidates from SC, ST and PwD categories. Students who complete Class 12 in 2025 or 2026 can apply, while those who passed in 2024 or earlier are not eligible.
