We took a peek into comparing these institutions : IFMR-GSB SRI City, XIME Bangalore, IMT Nagpur, N L Dalmia Inst of Management Studies and Research , Mumbai.
Formed in the year 1970 IFMR located in the sprawling Campus of Sri City is the oldest in the list with XIME – B formed in 1991,, N L Dalmia in 1995 and IMT Nagpur much later in 2004. IFMR, IMT N & N L Dalmia are known and popular for their Specialisation in Finance, whereas, it is PGDM – Business Analytics for XIME , Bangalore. For the Admission Process IFMR considers scores of CAT/XAT/GMAT/CMAT/NMAT, IMT Nagpur accepts -CAT/XAT/ GMAT/CMAT scores. On the other hand, XIME-B and N L Dalmia accept scores of all entrance exams. The CAT/XAT Cut-off for all these Institutions varies between the range of 70 -75 percentile and for XIME it is 60 percentile.
All the Institutions offer Residential Programme in their respective Campuses. IFMR’s Campus is 55 km away from Chennai with 7500 acres area, XIME is in Electronics city Bangalore N L Dalmia is in Mira Road , East Mumbai and IMT Nagour’s Campus is nestled in the middle of nature at Katol Road, Nagpur.

As per specialisation is considered other than XIME – Bangalore which offers PGDM -BA , IFMR and NL Dalmia is popular for MBA – Finance.In Terms of Seats IFMR has 240 and IMT -Nagpur has 360 seats whereas rest of the two institution (NL Dalmia & XIME Bangalore) has 180 seats each in total. All the B-Schools have a decent Student – Faculty Ratio will help the students to stay connected and focussed.

In terms of Tuition fees & Placement Salary comparison, IFMR has a Fee of Rs 14.5 Lakh and an Average CTC of Rs 13.5 Lakh with an ROI of almost 1.0 XIME-Bangalore has a Fee of Rs 13 Lakhs and Avg CTC of Rs 8.5 (ROI < 1), iMT Nagpur has a Tuition Fee of Rs .14.0 Lakhs and Avg CTC of Rs 10.80 Lakhs (ROI is less than IFMR’s), NL Dalmia has a Tuition fee of Rs 14.70 Lakh( Highest of the lot) and we are unsure of their Pay Package offered.
So if considered in terms of overall ROI (Fees viz -a-viz Avg CTC) and also considering the choice of specialisation ..IFMR clearly seems to be the choicest B- School for an aspirant looking for Management Degree with specialisation in Finance.
